Drawing on leadership roles in scripted physical production at a major studio conglomerate, Funkytown brings a rare blend of creative vision, operational expertise, and hands-on production knowledge to every event.

 

The company’s roots trace back to Gainesville, Florida, where its founder oversaw production and technical execution for major concerts featuring artists such as Sting, The Goo Goo Dolls, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Harry Connick Jr., Jane’s Addiction, Snoop Dogg, and Sister Hazel. At the same time, work with a regional entertainment company included DJ services for weddings, proms, mitzvahs, quinceañeras, and nightclub events — as well as hosting karaoke and trivia nights and serving as a PA announcer for high school and college sports.

 

This foundation expanded into producing a top-rated, nationally syndicated morning radio show and later into overseeing production on a slate of acclaimed music-driven films, including Drumline: A New Beat, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, The New Edition Story, and The Bobby Brown Story.
